![]() | Courtney Gerard Baloney, Owner/Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer Email: treasurefunerals@gmail.com Office Phone: 225-258-4039 Fax: 225-258-4041 Courtney Gerard Baloney is a native of Garyville, LA and a licensed practitioner of funeral services. He has over 15 years of industry-wide experience and a River Parishes base of operations. As a native son, he considers himself a representative of you and us. His grandfather, Earl Baloney, Sr., started practicing mortuary science on South Emilie St. in Garyville in the early 1950's. His father, Earl Baloney, Jr., his mother, Shelia and Aunt Carmen, all followed those footsteps at Earl Baloney & Sons Mortuary. Courtney, too, followed that path and in March, 2015, he opened the doors to his own funeral home, Treasures of Life-Center for Life Funeral Services, and became a third generation funeral home owner. He specializes in soft-tissue injuries, advanced post-mortem reconstruction, airbrush cosmetics and waxing(in high trauma cases). He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University, New Orleans, where he majored in International Business and Public Relations. He then went on to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Services from Delgado Community College. He is an alumnus of University of Florida at Gainesville, where he earned a post baccalaureate certificate in Forensic Death Investigation and a graduate of the Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming. He is an active member of the National Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association and he is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, the nation's highest quality continuing education program for funeral service providers. Because the body is one of the most important considerations in the funeral industry, clients are always tended to with such precision that they appear in a state of sleep, life-like and well groomed. He has extensive experience in reconstructing diseased areas, returning characteristics and individual charms to cases where families thought there would be no viewing of their loved one's remains. Courtney feels that he is now living his childhood dream of fulfilling God's law to serve HIS people during their time of bereavement, while also satisfying his desire to serve others. |
